Talamanca — Walking Distance to Ibiza Town

Wide sandy bay between Ibiza Town and Cap Martinet.

Talamanca is the bay immediately north of Ibiza Town: a long, shallow, sandy beach with a flat 25-minute walk around the water into the port. It is the compromise base — quiet enough to sleep, close enough to walk into the island's best dining and to reach Pacha in a few minutes.

Why base yourself here

Three reasons. The beach is calm and shallow, which suits families. The walk into Ibiza Town along the seafront removes taxis from the equation for dinner. And the hotels here are among the best on the island without being in the middle of a club strip.

What is here

Talamanca itself is residential and low-rise, with beachfront restaurants and little else. The nightlife sits on either side of it: Pacha and Lío a short taxi south, Chinois in Marina Botafoch, and Destino Five up on the Cap Martinet headland — the stored taxi fare from Ibiza Town to Destino is €12.

Where to stay

Getting around

Taxi fares we hold from Ibiza Town, which is the relevant reference point: €8 to Pacha and Lío, €12 to Destino, €15 to Playa d'en Bossa, €22 to Amnesia, €28 to San Antonio. The walk into town is genuinely flat and lit, but the walk back after 03:00 is 25 minutes you may not want.

Who it suits

Couples and families who want a beach and a quiet night, but also want to eat in Ibiza Town and go to Pacha without planning a journey. If you want to walk home from a superclub, this is not the right base — Playa d'en Bossa is.
