Portinatx — Quiet Northern Beaches

Portinatx is as far from Playa d'en Bossa as you can get on Ibiza, in every sense. It sits on the northern tip of the island: three small turquoise coves, a handful of hotels, no clubs, and a road in that takes about 40 minutes from the airport.

Why base yourself here

Because you want the island rather than the nightlife. The north is rockier, greener and far less developed than the south. The water in the coves at S'Arenal Petit and S'Arenal Gros is shallow and exceptionally clear, which makes this one of the better snorkelling bases on Ibiza.

Getting to the nightlife

Realistically, you are not. Portinatx to Ibiza Town is 35–40 minutes by car and taxis are scarce late at night. If you want a single big club night from here, hire a car or plan to stay south for that night. Treat any clubbing from Portinatx as a deliberate expedition rather than a casual decision.

Who it suits

Couples, divers, families with older children, and anyone who has done Ibiza's clubs before and wants the other version of the island. It is the quietest base we cover.
